Waypoint TV Celebrates Thanksgiving with Hunt, Fish, and Be Thankful Event

Austin, Texas – November 21, 2022 – The world’s leading entertainment destination for hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventure programming, Waypoint TV is celebrating this Thanksgiving by hosting a three hour event highlighting Thanksgiving Traditions from your favorite shows. Tune in on November 24, from 5 to 8 pm ET on Samsung TV Plus (Channel 1184), PLUTO (Channel 2205), VIZIO (Channel 258), LG (Channel 486), SLING, XUMO (Channel 718), and Local Now (Channel 2100), or watch through the Waypoint App or website.

Thanksgiving Day, join Waypoint TV from 5-8 PM ET for a heart warming family traditions event. Hunting and fishing are the center of many traditions this time of year, but thankfully, family and the outdoors go together all year long. Waypoint TV is excited to share episodes from your favorite series that remind us of the importance of family, friends, and this lifestyle we all love. This three-hour event includes series like Land of Whitetails, Rival Wild, Blood Origins, The Bearded Buck, The Given Right, Sporting Classics, Full Strut, and Behind the Draw. This is the best of traditions being shared and passed down to the next generation.

Whether your family has a long time tradition of enjoying an annual morning hunt with Dad, stopping by a favorite pond with the kids to see if anything is biting before the turkey is served, watching football with Grandpa while he pretends not to rest his eyes, or trying to make Grandma’s famous pumpkin pie, there is a lot to be thankful for.

Later in the evening, join Waypoint TV for dessert from 8-11 PM ET for three more tournaments of The Sport Fishing Championship. What better way to end your Thanksgiving, than with some action packed, heart racing, saltwater fishing? Hop off the gravy boat and onto the actual boat as we set sail during the Gulf Coast Masters. Go in for another slice with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic. And fall back into your food coma to finish out the night with the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic.

Thanksgiving Day line up:

Also, be sure to follow Waypoint TV on Facebook and Instagram as they share their own favorite traditions and memories throughout the week. Here are a few:

Graig Hale, Director of Business Development - Most of my childhood was spent hunting in Rockbridge County, VA in the early hours of Thanksgiving with my father and brother and returning to my uncle’s home in Roanoke for our family Thanksgiving. As an adult, great friends and I would continue this tradition for years. For a long time, the state of Virginia closed Fall Turkey season during the Deer firearm season, but in recent years the season reopens for only Thanksgiving Day, so it's always special to try to get a Thanksgiving Day bird or a whitetail, just whatever wants to cooperate... or both!

Zach Rollins, Business Development Executive – My Thanksgiving Day tradition is going for a hike after Thanksgiving dinner, or a quick kayak all bundled up.

Turner Rowland, Strategic Growth Coordinator - One Thanksgiving in college at Montana State, my brother and I couldn't go home. Naturally, we backpacked the breaks of Eastern Montana where we knew there were some cranker Mule Deer. We glassed up a Mountain Lion and some deer on the first night, then had an incredibly windy second day. On the second night, we received a call from the Sheriff letting us know that there would be a severe blizzard hitting us that morning. He advised us to evacuate immediately, so we packed up around 11pm, then worked our ways down the steep finger ridges, getting cliffed out multiple times in the dark after our headlamps died. We ultimately made our way back to the truck safe and bummed out, but it made for a memory that we will never forget.

Megan Hardesty, Accountant - My favorite family Thanksgiving Day Tradition is cooking my grandmother's famous mac and cheese but also making all the goodies to go along with it. Every year on Thanksgiving to honor my Grandparents my children will set up the Christmas Tree and add a custom-made ornament to the tree that represents what they have been thankful for in that current year.

Stevie Barefield, Director of Marketing - My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is taking an unintentional epic nap in the deer stand after an early turkey dinner. Even though I always have a goal of bringing home a doe, that rarely happens.
