Meet the Team: Katherine Brookshire, Director of Content Ops
Allow us to introduce our Director of Content Operations, Katherine Brookshire.
Katherine has been an integral part of Waypoint TV since 2021, transitioning from Content Operations Coordinator to Manager and now Director. With her stellar organizational skills, Katherine leads her team with a hands-on approach, ensuring seamless operations across our TV channel, FAST platforms, app, and website. Her analytical mindset, unwavering passion for Waypoint TV, and dedication to client satisfaction have been instrumental in her success.
In her role, Katherine oversees day-to-day activities in the content and programming departments, including the scheduling of producer and advertiser content and campaigns across Waypoint TV and FAST platforms. She meticulously plans our weekly programming events and series launches, shaping the Waypoint TV linear channel schedule with the end user at the top of mind. With Katherine at the helm, supported by our talented Content Ops team, advertisers, producers, and viewers will always experience the best of the best.
Born and raised in a small town in Texas, Katherine moved to Austin for college. Receiving a Bachelor of Science at The University of Texas at Austin with a major in Radio, Television, and Film, her first few roles consisted of Production Assistant, Casting Assistant, and multiple Executive Assistant roles to Documentary Directors and Producers. Eventually, this led her to make a leap and move to Los Angeles.
There, she worked with first-look production companies for both Warner Brothers and Universal, taking the lead on the creative development of scripts and the project management of the lead producer's ventures.
Although the weather was nice, she left Los Angeles for a consulting opportunity with the Gerson Lehrman Group back in Austin. She was looking for experience in a larger, more corporate business setting, and she found it. Working her way up to a Senior Client Engagement role, she greatly enjoyed the high stakes and fast-paced environment of the book of media-centered clients but eventually wanted to get back into a more hands-on role and found her way to Waypoint TV.
“In my spare time, my husband and I consider ourselves amateur astronomers. We have a pretty impressive telescope and love taking people out to get good shots of the stars. We tent camp whenever the weather allows it, spend a lot of time outside with our dog Cosmo, and we try to plan sailing trips whenever we can.”
